Did you know that you can see the northern lights not only from one of the Earth’s poles, but also at the equator? You need to go to the island of Java, a few hours away from Bali, and then head east to Ijen Volcano. At an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level, you will see magnificent natural colors: a turquoise lake, bright yellow stones, and bright blue lights. During the day, workers carry huge chunks of sulfur in baskets to sell, and at night mysterious blue lights appear around the rocks. This is because when oxygen comes into contact with sulfur, a chemical reaction occurs and special glows become visible in the air.
All of these elements create wonderful scenery. You should bring a camera not only to keep the memories, but also to capture them in a picture.
Welcome to the planet Ijen!
